It is a refreshing treat that not only will be a hit with both kids and adults, but it is also a fun way to eat mangos. Today, we will guide you through this quick and simple recipe that will help you create this delicious healthy treat in a snap. Gear up the kitchen and let's dive into it!
Did you know that mangos are more than just a delicious treat? They are also packed with numerous health benefits, converting them in a nutritional powerhouse! In the following lines, we will quickly explain you why you should incorporate mango in your diet.
1. High in essential vitamins and minerals
Rich in vitamin C, which boosts significantly your immune system. Mangos also contain vitamin A, which promotes good vision, healthy skin, and a strong immune system. In addition, they are also packed with magnesium, potassium, and folate, which are essential elements to have your body working optimally.
2. Rich in antioxidants
Mangos contain high dosis of various antioxidants. In case you never heard about them, antioxidants help fight against harmful free radicals and protect our cells from damage. Furthermore, antioxidants have been linked to a reduced risk of chronic diseases, including heart disease and certain types of cancer.
3. Gut health and digestion friendly
Mangos are an excellent source of dietary fiber. Dietary fever helps to smooth one's digestion, and promotes a healthy digestive system. According to research, the natural enzymes present in mangos, such as amylase and lactase, help break down complex carbohydrates and proteins, making them easier to digest. Therefore, if you're looking to improve your digestion and promote a healthy gut, get a mango!
We should all include meals and snacks high in antioxidants and gut-friendly in our diet. But it is not always easy. In our current fast-paced society, and busy lives, it is difficult to make time for meal prep and carefully think on what we eat. However, if eventually we want to avoid certain diseases, boost our energy levels and feel happy with ourselves, we do need to have a nourishing diet. And mangos can be part of it!
We love making popsicles at home, cause it gives us a complete control over the ingredients we use. In addition, we ensure that our popsicle contains fresh and high-quality fruits, avoiding artificial additives, preservatives, or excessive amounts of sugar. Basically, it allows us to have healthier options for ourselves.
If you have kids, making popsicles at home can be a fun activity! It's an opportunity to spend quality time together with your children, experiment with flavors, and create delicious treats that everyone can enjoy afterwards.
But even when eating them by yourself, having a homemade popsicle gives you a childish joy that will make you smile :)
Mango Popsicle Recipe, quick and easy! Follow the steps below, and watch the video on social media if you need extra guidance.
Ingredients (4 popsicle molds):
2 large ripe mangoes
250gr Passion Fruit yogurt (I used the brand Alpro, plant based Skyr yogurt)
2 1/2 tbsp Agave Syrup
Appliances:
Popsicle molds (I use silicone molds, best usage and quality)
Popsicle sticks (I use Lekue reusable sticks, super easy to clean)
Start by peeling the mangoes and remove the flesh from the pit. Set the mango flesh aside in a bowl. Check out the video on TikTok to see how I peel and remove the flesh in a super quick and easy way!
Add the yogurt to the blender, then 3/4 of the mango and the agave syrup. Blend it in medium speed for about 30sec. Try out the mix and if it is not sweet enough for your taste buds, add a bit more of fresh mango and 1/2 agave syrup.
Cut the remaining mango flesh into chunks.
Pour half of the mango mixture into the popsicle molds, add some fresh mango chunks, and finalize covering the molds with the mixture. Leave a little bit of space at the top because the mixture will expand during the freezing, and it is also less likely you create a mess when transferring them into the freezer ;-)
Set them aside in the freezer at least for 3.5 hours. Afterwards, you can start enjoying them!
* Pro Tip: If you are not using silicone molds or you have a hard time to unmold the popsicles, you can run the molds under warm water for a few seconds to loosen them.
One of the best things about this recipe is also its versatility. You can customize your mango popsicle to suit your tastes by using different plant-based yogurts and sweeteners, or by adding in other fruit pieces like strawberries or coconut chunks.
Making mango flavor popsicles at home is also a fun way to cool down during hot summer days. With this quick and simple recipe, you can create a refreshing treat that will nourish your body from inside, so you shine outside. Enjoy this delightful tropical bite!
